I titled this post "Snakes, Serpents, Corded or Coils" because I have seen similar applications called all of these. As usual for me, this post is less of a "Show and Tell" and more of a "Show and Someone Tell Me".

On the first three vases the "serpents" have heads that looks more like Platipus bills, while the fourth example is more like a coil or cord, not much like a "snake" at all.

#1 - Kralik (semi-circular mark) fan vase, 6.75 inches tall by 8.50 inches widest. White opaque glass with red transparent snake.

#2 - Welz attribution, two line "Made in Czechoslovakia" provenance mark, 8 inches tall, orange & white "variegated" decor, black applied rim and black snake.

#3 - I don't know the maker, called "granite glass" in Truitt's Bohemian Glass, Vol. II (see page 65) , unmarked, 7 inches tall, opaque orange-red glass covered with these very small multi-colored "melted specs", slightly iridescent I think, orange-red opaque snake.

#4 - I don't know the maker, unmarked, 10 inches tall, inner layer of clear glass with an outer layer of multi-colored "spatter glass", slightly iridescent I think, blue snake.

Attached is a fifth photo of a vase with transparent green coils, unmarked. I am unsure it is Czech.

      czechman and inky,

Thanks for your nice comments. Someday we should have a serpent vase "beauty contest". I like #3 also but, from what I've seen, Alfredo's RINDSKOPF PINK MARTELE SERPENT VASE is my favorite:

      Thanks fran,

When I saw yours, before I read the post, I saidto myself "love the corset shape and perfect color on the snake to go with the alabaster/white". You got it just right, imho
