I am hoping someone here can help me. I acquired this bed from a friend of mine and all he told me was that it is made of Teak and is 600-years old. I know it looks old, is hand made, and it uses wood pegs, instead of nails, to hold everything together. I would like to get it appraised, however I was to do some research before I approach an appraiser. Any help on where it came from, approx. age, and any other information you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.

that helped, it seems to be from Bali. I am continuing my research and have reached out to people to see if is authentic or reclaimed wood. Is there anything else anyone can tell me about this. Thank you again for getting me this far.
Without having it in front of me, I cannot attest to it's age. However, a 600 year old bed would have honest wear on it. This piece has crisp edges. Labor being minimal there, and with no apparent reworking, I would assume that it was not made from reclaimed (boat) wood.
I know of about 20 importers of furniture local to me that bring in one or two containers a month full of this style of new furniture. Arm yourself with the measurements, and select a cushion and some throw pillows and enjoy your new daybed.
