LOUMANAL
(436 items)
The Majolika Karlsruhe factory was founded in 1901 by the Grandduke of Baden. The manufacture produced all kinds of ceramics, from useful household items to art, all designed by reputable artists. One of the main designers of items through the 1950s-70s was Friedegart Glatzle who worked there for 30 years. This was apparently one of their early designs at the factory after it reopened after the war. The mark underneath should have had a production number but this one has a raised cartouche mark only. It measures 5 1/8" tall by 5" and when I first saw it, I thought it was an Antique Chinese Crackle Vase. It looks like stone and is as soft to the touch as a Baby's Bum. RER (BOB)
