We have this lovely handmade sailboat our grandfather crafted, we believe in the 30's or thereabouts. It does have a sail with masts but I could not figure out how to set it up, and it looks nice without them. This was made in Ismailia Egypt were he was stationed as an engineer to help build the Suez canal. Beautiful piece.
stunning is more like it !!!!!! love it!!
Thanks Sean -- so glad it caught your eye!!!

What an amazing piece of work he did and a treasured family heirloom . I love it very much !
Great family treasure, love it!
A brass plaque with his name & date it was "launched" attached to the base would look nice.
Great work by an expert modeler! I'm that it being a family piece makes it extra special.
Did he actually sail/ have a full sized version of this boat?

Thanks walksoftly. mikelv85, PhilDavidAlexanderMorris, officialfuel, aghcollect, ho2cultcha, kerry10456, itsasecret, catteann, blunderbuss2 and Manikin for the love. Thanks Manikin for the wonderful comment, as well as scotvez and walksoftly. Scott I do not think it was a model for a larger craft, but alas these details do get lost with the passage of time as you well know.
Very nice! I like your Morris Chair also!
