    GlueChip
    (142 items)

    Pair of Caged Glass Candlesticks
22" tall bronze and blown glass
    In the style of Tiffany.

Purchased about 15yrs ago and can't remember for the life of me who made them. Just remember it was a limited edition for 500 specifically made for Barney's of NY.

Anyone ever seen limited edition reproductions before. I reached out to Lundberg Glass because I remember something about them being produced on the West Coast.

HA HA! to funny inky. If only I could remember who made them. They have no markings. Maybe I should try contacting the Barney's Buying office and see if they have record.

Check with Paul Crist Studios in California, may be the studios produced these candlesticks?

i finally heard back from Lundberg Glass. The said they had done replacement glass before and had worked on candlesticks of this nature but couldn't confirm if they did these that were sold at Barneys New York in the late 90's. I guess its back to the investigating stage.

They are really beautiful, GlueChip, and particularly extraordinary since you have the pair. Too bad you didn't buy several pairs back in 1955. :-)

Is there a mark on the bottom?

Since you know the provenance, your sticks appear to be copied after the Tiffany Studios New York "Pineapple" Candlesticks, that are illustrated in a book by A. Duncan. Here is one listed online, courtesy of macklowegallery:

There are several variations of this candlestick. Here is another pair, courtesy of Ophir Gallery:

hi solver, thanks for the info. yeah i do wish they were Tiffany and purchased before I was born (ha). I am just trying to find out who knocked off the Tiffany Candlesticks for Barney's in the late 90's. so wish I had kept the sales ticket.

They remind me of Villeroy Boch caged glass items.
