Hi everybody! This particular clock is an F. Kroeber Vienna Regulator Model No. 33, ca. 1875. Somewhat unusual as the American clock maker's imported Vienna clocks were for the most part, time only, not time & strike weight driven clocks. The movement bears the Kroeber signature and the serial number is a match to the dial plate, mounting bracket and pendulum. Very pleasant, soft strike on a wire gong. Overall condition is excellent. Two piece porcelain dial does have 2 very faint hairlines at 4 & 8. An attractive, slim profile walnut case has dimensions of 49" height x 16" upper width and 11 1/4" body width x 6 1/2 depth.
VERY nice, thanks for sharing this wonderful clock I likey :-))
Tutzie, I don't remember if I asked or not.... How many clocks do you display in home?
Hi Kerry, I live in a very, very small SF apartment. Clocks are displayed everywhere with the exception of the bathroom! And I even find room for artwork :) Right now, I'm guessing around 30 that are up, running and on display.
and thank you Kerry for the LOVE!
Very cool indeed, humidity probably high in bathroom anyways. You're welcome and thanks for the count :-)
The dial and case look amazing Tutzie. I can only imagine how wonderful it must sound.
Another beautiful example. Thirty clocks in a small apartment, huh? Have you ever seen the mini-series "Fresno" with Carol Burnett, Dabney Coleman and a whole cast from that "era" of T.V. Comedy? There was a character named Louise., it think. She didn't have a major role, but she lived in a small mobile home which was filled with clocks. Clocks *everywhere*! She even had a Grandfather clock outside leaning against the trailer! :) I thought it was pretty funny. Some great lines. Anyway, another great example. Thanks for sharing.
Bruce99! OMG that is so funny! I have to at least see at least a portion of that mini-series... I didn't think even a TV character could be as nuts as I am when it comes to clocks. I do have an adorable little private yard/garden that comes with this little Victorian apartment.. maybe I can find a Tower Clock to put outside, ya think? Thanks for the wonderful note and the love!
Okay Tutzie, I'll post a Tower Clock, lol, I had it posted once, along with me winding it with crank. but resubmit for you to look
Thanks so much to crazycharacter, vanskyock24, SEAN68, blunderbuss2, officialfuel, and aghcollect for stopping by to show the love! Fun to share with you all!
Yes indeed pops, it does have a low key mellow tone. Glad you enjoyed seeing this Vienna regulator, and once again, thank you for the love.
awright Kerry! Dig up that picture ~ can't wait to see it!
Hey Tutzie, You plan on posting any more of your beautiful clocks in the future?
