I remember Drs offices using these . I have a old one also I should post . I wonder what Not Legal means ? Great post vansky !
Mani - Not Legal in Trade simply means it could not be used for items sold in stores by weight, such as meat, veggies, flowers, etc.
Not legal in trade means you can't weigh a pound of hamburg on it because it isn't inspected and calibrated for commercial use. My mom had one of these because she had kids at home. Closest hospital was too far away. That was back when you washed diapers and made your own formula with Karo syrup and had a sterilizer for the glass bottles.

Odd that is clearly on a baby scale . I guess you could not sell you baby by pound ? I have used mine to weigh parcels to ship and always right on . I have to go take a photo I have since moved it to basement .
