This is a Wear-Ever Aluminum Canister container with top. It is 7 1/8" tall (8 1/2" with lid on) and holds 7 cups (1 3/4 qts.). - Stamped on the bottom No. 112 and the Wear-Ever T.A.C.U. Aluminum Trademark / Made in USA

(The Aluminum Cooking Utensil Company) was created in 1901 as a subsidiary company to market aluminum cooking utensils made by the Pittsburgh Reduction Company (founded 1888, - renamed in 1907 to ALCOA - Aluminum Company of America) - The Wear-Ever name was adopted in 1903. Initially this cookware was sold door-to-door by college students and would later be purchased in large quantities by organizations and restaurants. In 1912 the United States Marine Corps would adopt Wear-Ever aluminum utensils as their standard issue utensils. - Circa 1940's-1950's
