I have 21 Beatrix Potters figurines plus the Log Stump for display made by Beatrix Potter. I found alittle information on this colleciton, but would enjoy finding some more. Some of the figurines have dates on them ranging from 1948-1976. I have pictures of each one with the stamp underneath. I went on some sites, Beatrix potter's site and ebay sites and found some info, but would like to hear something from this site that will definitely tell me more. Thank you..

This is a bit confusing, you have been on their site and on eBay....what exactly are you looking for in terms of "more"? Obviously you know they are common and if you looked on eBay you know they aren't being bid on. I wonder what more there is to say?? No disrespect intended.

I realize that I said I went on Beatrix potters site but I couldn't get a lot of information on some/most of the figurines. Or I just didn't take the time to search completely. I saw oval stamps were something of a BP2 or close to and years created or made. And I went to eBay and I didn't find much besides people trying to sell theirs. I wanted to find out information on the dog that I posted photo of underneath and log stump. Nothing was said about those 2 plus others that I didn't take enough time to research. I have so many items in china cabinet and in spare room that I'm just saving/collecting. I apologize for coming off like I knew everything that there is to know about them. I saw eBay prices etc but most wasn't the same exact figurine as mine and I'm not looking for a price to sell. I'd just like to have something about each and every one of the figurines to pass down thru my family etc. Thank u for ur help. :)

In that you have the ability to research these but you just didn't take the time to research them I seriously doubt anyone here will spend their time doing it for you. If you had no idea what they were everyone would help. You know what you have, you know where to research them and obviously you know the value. Perhaps you need to get motivated and research them yourself. The people you pass them down to will appreciate the fact that you took the time and effort yourself to research them.

Hi! It might be more valuable to look at who made these wonderful figurines, the Beswick Pottery Company and see all the other items they made. I uploaded three large vases on this CW site made by Beswick so you could start there. They made some quite special Animal Figurines that are collected by many. Another aspect of this company is that their wares were sold mostly in England, Australia, Canada and to find a collection like yours in the US is rare. I am impressed and wish you good luck in your research. BOB

Bob, thank u for ur comment. I truly appreciate ur explaining to me that it's rare for someone to have this collection in the US. When I visited the sites I mentioned earlier, I didn't see anything on the dog (hound dog or whatever type it is) and nothing on the stump either. All the sites were saying is the figurines they had and the stamp and just about the Price they were asking for it. I was only looking for some the history Of the exact ones that I have. Some of the figurines have copyright and dates, most just say the copyright without a date. Could I send u the pictures of the figurines that I have and I photographed the stamp on the back as well, and possibly u could assist me in locating each one PLEASE. I will check out ur site in a little bit to see the vases etc. I'm sure they are beautiful. Thank u so very much Bob. As I mentioned earlier, I am truly interested in these pieces and not sure if later down the line of just keeping or maybe having to sell I have an Implant in my back (Spinal Cord Stimulator) and it hasn't worked properly Since day one of the permanent implant on 12-28-12. Mostly all contacts to the nerves in my lower back have become invalid (beginning the first night of surgery after coming home I had already lost 1 contact, and lost 12 of the 16 contacts as of 12-5-13). My dr said he'd preform his part of operation free since trouble from day 1 Then as of 1-16-14 he more or less Fired me saying for me to find another Dr. I don't have insurance anymore, just waiting for my Medicare to begin in December 2014. So now I have this $85,000.00 implant in my back and it completely stopped working a few nights ago. Haha. Some luck I have. Just explaining alittle of my not being so focused on researching fully the figurines. But thank u so much Bob for all ur help.

Just to help you in your research - Beatrix Potter (born Helen Beatrix Potter; 1866-1943) was an English author, illustrator, natural scientist and conservationist best known for her imaginative children's books, featuring animals such as those in The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which celebrated the British landscape and country life. The items you have marked with the Beatrix Potter name would be modeled after her characters. Although made by the same company (Beswick), the dog figurine you show is NOT a Beatrix Potter character so you would not find any information under her name. For the dog figurine you can simply google "Beswick England dogs" and look at the images page.
Try this link for Beatrix Potter - an actual collector ALWAYS knows more than an ebay seller.
