Pottery Madonna/Mother and Child

I came across this very well executed Mother and child sculpture at an estate sale. I gravitated to it because of its simplistic beauty. It reminds me of the horse I posted on CW recently.I am not sure of the maker, but I am sure of the work. This sculpture stands approx. 14” tall. It is pretty dense. During my research, I tried every letter combo I can think of, I even closed an eye and stood on my head. Nothing. My guess is that it is Italian and that is pretty much what I have on this particular piece. Any thoughts you might have on this piece, would be appreciated. Thank you.
