I happen to have a lot of blue glass, it seems to be what I happen upon a lot. Here is a small grouping, including a Fenton Blue Opalescent Hobnail basket found at Goodwill, a huge Silvercrest compote with blue roses made for Sears, a blue crested tri-lobe vase from the 40s, and a Silver Turquoise bowl. There are also two Northwood pieces, both blue opalescent. One is a 'flipped' Spanish Lace rolled bowl circa 1899, the other is a tree trunk vase that sat under the kitchen sink for years, left there from when my husband's grandma was alive and owned the house. At one time, I thought it was ugly, but kept it safe anyway, not knowing a decade later I would develop an affinity for old glass and find it suddenly gorgeous! It's a miracle it was never chipped being banged around all those years under the sink! There is also a mica basket, blue cased with milk glass and a tree-branch-like handle. Some research I did indicates it is from the 1880s, but that seems unlikely to me. Anyone familiar with mica glass?

Very very pretty! I literally just found that Blue Crest vase last week for my friend...isn't that funny?!? Great basket!
Read your profile. I don't do ebay but I do three or four flea markets a year. It is part of my Hoarder Agreement of 2010 with my hubby. Turns out to be super fun, if not a lot of work. Made lots of dealer friends that way...more access to treasure!

Thanks again, AmberRose! That vase is actually one of my newer pieces I bought off eBay. I don't buy much on there because the cost of shipping negates any bargain, but I had to have it. According my research, that's part of the first wave of aqua crest. Your friend must love you foe finding them such treasures! My hubby doesn't try to curb my thrifting since it's much cheaper than regular shopping. But I have learned not to take him with me because he always says something like, "We need (whatever it is) like a hole in the head!"

Very nice indeed ! I agree thrifting is a solo endeavor. It either becomes a competition or a snooze fest for whoever comes along...lol
