15.5" x 4" x 7" Salesman's Demonstrator of a farm gate with an unusual latching system. Patent unknown. Estimate 1875 - 1930 time period.
Think there may a piece missing that operated the latch. The gate tilts high enough to clear the latch post. Doesn't tilt high enough to insure effective clearance of obstructions such as large rocks or snow.
Been checking all of these out, very cool, really impressed on how these survived. Thanks for sharing these wonderful treasures
