Plaster Dog Head With Glass Eyes

I found this very cool plaster dog head at a flea market and bought it for $1. I was drawn to its glass eyes. It measures 5.25 inches in length, 3.5 inches in height, and 2.5 inches wide. It has had an ear repaired and has some chips. I love this thing but I don't really know how old it is or what it was used for. It has a hole (about 2 inches deep) and a bolt sticking out so it can be attached. I was hoping someone could tell me about my treasure! Thanks!
