Hi Very cute dolls. Porcelain look a like Kewpie 1st one . These both appear to made from molds in a ceramic class and painted by a person taking dollmaking classes . Very common to have done in 1980-90s and earlier , The painting of facial features and uneven coloring of bodies highly suggests that a person made them for themselves . They should have dated or put their initials on back of neck or back .
These sudio's would supply the unpainted mold ,you would paint it and then they fire it .

Thank you . The elderly lady i got them from was indeed a crafter but no signature or date.

That makes sense then it was most likely her that made them if she was a crafter :-) Usually they signed them but it is not a rule UNLESS they are using a mold that is a exact replica of a antique doll and when they make the mold the name of German or French firm would also impress into the mold so as not to make people think they are buying a say a Antique Bru Jne doll it has to be marked by person and dated . Yours look more like molds a artist made and not replica's of a true antique doll. Hope that all made sense whew lol
