My father inlaw gave me this because he runs a scrap yard but he gets lots of interesting things in he keeps, he knows I like this old rusty items like this but we dont know what it is. Its not an anchor its too light.. I hope someone can tell me what they think it is.
if not a small boat anchor in the end, will surprise me. Will be watching for addition comments
Looks like an art piece maybe a planter or table lamp /candle holder with a nautical theme.

My husband Dad came up with he thinks its something you hang from the tree like a windmill type thing that is a bird feeder.. :) Im not sure what it is, but want to sell it because I don't know what to do with it, but how do you list something you don't know what it is, :) That thing is driving me crazy..
Just a thought, list as folk art (nautical theme) and how tall, wide, ect. Use T.A.'s and your father-n-laws ideas

That sure is an odd looking item.
The chain looks to be connected to the loop at the top. Is the chain welded at the bottom? If so, that would pretty much tell it's just a decorative item as mentioned.
Of course, everybody does realize that this won't hang level from the chain on one side?
