Well, I received a call today from a good friend and he brought this little guy over, actually not little, he's approx 37 inches tall standing, white mohair with excelsior stuffed, his pads are original and he has button eyes, long snout and stitched nose although there is also a button there, he has a hump on the back and is fully jointed, he also has a center seem, does seem to show some Steiff charictoristics but not sure, he doesn't have a button in the ear. He's got a fantastic look and character.

Any thoughts on who might have made this bear? Being as big as he is, could this have been a showroom window bear? Just a thought.

Been doing a lot of reading, could this be a BING made bear?

It could be . I have a Teddy Bear book I will try and see if I can find him. Teddy Bears without tag have to attribute to a firm by stitching of nose , eyes, body type, toes and s much , They did make Teddy Bears this big like they do today . I guess for rich kids :-) Teddy Bear artists today could make one just like it showing wear so always be careful when buying one. This one has that button on nose that confuses me ?

Thanks Manikin!! I wish I could post a few more pics of him but unfortunately only limited to four. I look forward to hear if you find any info on him and if others might have any thoughts.
