Vintage Crown Trifari clip on earrings

I originally saw a photo of these earrings in an antique book I had borrowed from the local library. The colors and size of these Crown Trifari clip on earrings struck me at the time.

A few weeks later I came upon them in a thrift store in real life so I purchased them. I've tried to re-find that library book to no avail.

Does anyone have any history or information on these for me?
