Yikes! My dad bought this mounted head from a local auction. I was just wondering if someone could tell me just what it is. Is it just an ordinary goat? I compared it to some pictures online and it looks sort of like Catalina goat, but that's just my inexpert opinion.

Any help with an ID will be appreciated.

I just want to be the first to comment on a dead goats head. I would buy that too depending!

Looks like a domestic goat to me. I did a search of images, mountain goats not even close. Wild goats, nope. Domestic goats pretty close. Only they have that uneven color pattern.
That is the sort of stuff I pick up myself.
