I am not sure what he is made of, maybe pottery? but he is chipped in a few places. Measures 11" tall and 6" wide at base, this ashtray is very unique. The gentleman seems to be drunk and is holding on to a lamp post which has "lacrosse" hand written in the four sides of the post. I purchased him in a secondhand store about 17 years ago and love him. We are one.

There must have been a hundred different "Drunk on Lamp Post" ashtrays and bottle openers made over the years. Most are cast iron.
I don't know anything about this one but the "Lacrosse" appears to be marker over a molded in street name, Save Ave????? The other sides may be a different street??

Just had a thought, if it's chalkware it may have been carnival item.
