cool oddball thrift shop find was wound up tight when i found it,..but when rocked once in a while the small faux pendulum would rock back and forth so i figured wasn't a lost cause , and even if it was shot its still such a cool looking little bugger,..got it home pulled it apart blew some ancient dead bugs out of the works snuck between the plates and gave a little nanolube to all the moving parts and when some got into the pivot for that little pendulum off it went,..its keeping very very good time for a lux clock from ,..the 20s? 30s? anyone know for sure?im guessing from the look of it . at bottom of the face says "THE LUX CLOCK MFG CO , WATERBURY CONN USA
sticker on the back says "deluxe clock AND mfg co,New York ,MIGNARD, pat applied for.
think its made of that fake wood made of sawdust and resin ,..think its called syroco wood but cant tell,..think its always looked like an antique cause the paint seems fairly perfect and besides cleaning the movement out and the case inside and the beveled glass i don't wanna mess with the finish
Here is a link to a Lux Clock Collection & this shows "The Heartbeat" clock.
