This oak dining table was left behind in the basement by the previous owner of our 1923 Chicago 2-flat. I know nothing about it, but love what appears to be a hand-painted scene of 3 birds on a branch. Adding to the mystery are the Western Union sticker on the underside of the table top and the copyright symbol on the edge of one of the painted leaves.
I breed and raise parrots and have worked with wood for the majority of my life. This is an example of where one detracts from the other. To me it is wonderful but you won't find many people who feel the same. To others it is a table ruined.
