This belonged to my Great-Grandfather (1880-1951) in Germany. The family story is it belonged to his pocket watch. His beloved watch was buried with him at his request for in his words "his time had run out".
Description: The chain has a total of 43 oval links with a round ring attached at one end. There is also a small ring attached on the 24th link
(or 20th, depending which way you count from). - Chain length 10 1/4"
The 'bar' piece (1 3/8") has 9 links between and has a 3-ring piece at the end (which also has little 'balls' between the rings) - The other piece is the latch piece (both ends open to attach) - this is the only piece with a mark which is 1/10 - I assume this entire item is gold-plated as can see some wear-off on the links.
