Appears to be ONE OF A KIND STOP SIGN !!!!Corporate Archivist Automobile Club of Southern California researched the intersection of Wilshire Blvd. and Catalina St. and told me that was the intersection of the INFAMOUS AMBASSADOR HOTEL constructed in 1921 and demolished in 2005. He was guessing it might have been requested by the Hotel of the Auto Club of So. CA as an sign to put up when exiting the hotel showing street directions. HE SAID YES IT IS A RARE SIGN INDEED. Have links to photos of your exact stop sign at the intersection of Wilshire and Catalina in 1931. The "Stop" side faces the oncoming cars and the text side faces Wilshire, more visible to pedestrians than cars. It is in working order but needs restoration Please call or text 775-721-9086 if you have any information on this rare sign.
