I'm not an expert in Bohemian glass at all but I did find this bowl at a local junk shop very cheap. Its a large bowl approx. 12 inches across and the handles a bit further. The height is approx. 7 inches. As you can see it has clear applied handles in a square shape. There are 4 clear applied feet and a polished pontil.
Its a great large bowl with a lot of character.
Maybe someone can give any additional info.
Handles too!
Whoa! Never seen the handles before!
I believe this ruffled bowl form is often called a 'Bride's Bowl'. I have usually seen them on their own, or on a silverplate pedestal, or in a brass frame. The applied handles are more unusual, though. I do believe this is Bohemian, too. There is a similar bowl on Ebay, being sold by Leah: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Bohemian-Kralik-Amethyst-Opalescent-Art-Glass-Bowl-w-Applied-D-Handles-/131112861032?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e86ef7d68 - not a ruffled, but the handles are very similar.
..I meant "not as ruffled" - not "not a" :)
I actually ask Leah if it was Bohemian before I bought it. She said yes and was a nice piece so I got it.
Its a big piece of glass for sure and the handles are unusual on it for sure.
Thanks so much Leah!
