A huge specially made trunk.

This is a travelers or salesmans trunk(determined by me through my internet research).It was manufactured by the Fibre Specialty Company in Kinnett Square Pa.(Stamped on metal plate in front panel) between 1898 and 1902.There are heavy leather straps with buckles on the inside bottom along with a canvas covering inside also and it never had an inside tray(no tray ledge).There are brass studs all over all sides with a brass lock but all other hardware is cast iron.The hinges have a patent date of May 21 1878.This trunk is so heavy and huge and measures 36 1/2" long x 26 1/2" wide x 24 " deep.I can't determine if this trunk is covered by a vulcanized material or leather.I haven't been able to find another trunk with the same top corner castings.This trunk was found in the basement of the old Cardinal Hotel in Columbus,Ga.many years ago before it was torn down.This trunk is at least 112 years old and looks great!
