I believe this compote belongs to a family of Harrach Alabaster Glass from 1870 or so. Warren has a couple of posts on this ( http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/60061-harrach-neuwelt--alabaster-glass-vesse ). Unfortunately came in 3 pieces...
Oh and it has some weird cork in the middle... I'm not sure if it's supposed to be there or what, seller said it might be original.

Hi Sean! yes it got broken, seller seemed professional, but for some reason he packed it in a box barely wider than the compote itself, it really matters nothing how much you protect one part of the item if another is touching the wall of the box. got full refund and all, but you can not refund sadness you get when loosing 130 yo piece. I glued it together, and use it for containing small stuff on my table.
