I KNOW AT LEAST ONE PERSON ON HERE WILL RECOGNISE THIS AS THEY VERY KINDLY REPLIED TO MY BOMBARDMENT OF EMAILS! I SOLD THIS BOWL AT A BRIC-A-BRAC STALL FOR £8 THIS MONDAY AS I NEEDED TO SELL THINGS TO MAKE ENDS MEET.. I THEN ASKED FOR IT BACK! FORTUNATELY THE BUYER WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING.. I FELT I WANTED TO LOOK INTO WHAT IT WAS AND HADN'T HAD THE TIME. I TOOK IT HOME AND SCOURED THE INTERNET.. AND DISCOVERED TANGO GLASS..WOW! I'VE HAD SUGGESTIONS FROM VERY WELL INFORMED PEOPLE THAT IT POSSIBLY IS LOETZ OR RUCKL.. AND WAS TOLD ITS REPRO BUY A FINE ART DEALER.
SO ANYMORE SUGGESTIONS???
IM INTRIGUED!
This looks like Loetz to me with the polished pontil. Gorgeous Red/Black Tango...
Gary, you would now better than I :)
OH DEAR THATS 2 FOR LOETZ.. THE PONTIL BEING THE MAIN REASON IN BOTH.. AND 2 SAYING RUCKL.. CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHY RUCKL? IM A COMPLETE NOVICE!
REALLY CZECHMAN? SO ITS DEFINITELY NOT REPRODUCTION THEN
COOL THANKS CZECHMAN.. DEFINATELY THE SAME BOWL!
THANKS KS85... I NEED TO HEAR ITS WORTH MILLIONS ;D SO WHAT DATES COULD IT BE?
IT'S GOT TO BE WORTH MORE THAN THE £3 I PAID FOR IT.. OR THE £8 I NEARLY SOLD IT FOR..

Loetz tango from the passau museum.. But still can't see the foot!
I wonder if anyone has any photos from a different angle from the museum? Worth a try asking :D
Sorry welezebub.. It was a photo from someone who emailed it to me that they took at the museum .. That's probably why it wouldn't open. They said it was loetz tango, I wonder if there is a guide book of the cases in the museum? As it's clearly case 108 or 26.. Not sure how the numbers work.
Either way you have a really nice Tango bowl.
The same bowl in red (or something like) it was in a cabinet at the Muzeum Vysociny Havlickuv Brod in April 2012. I have seen two photos of it. One you have already seen taken by Jiri Vecera, I think. Here you will see another view of it again taken by Vecera:

It is in the 9th photo in the series.
There it is with two other pieces that are probably Rueckl.
Whether Jitka Lnenickova saw it or them as Loetz or Rueckl we don't know for sure.
And the debate goes on!
wow vetraio50 great memory! it might just be the photo but that bowl looks another colour too!.. it seems to me i need to go to Czechoslovakia and turn the bowl over myself!
it is a lovely bowl.. but i do sadly have to sell it :( my husband is having treatment for cancer and cant work so i'm sorting out my bits and bobs to sell.
although saying that i bet i hold onto this after all the reading up on it.. i could just live under the bowl :D
welzebub.. can you search your book for case 108 :D

you know what that looks like the same three bowls in this link from czechman..
i wonder when the exhibition will come to england :D
ah thanks welzebub.. i totally agree people matter most, we can buy it again.. it means i can spend more hours charity shopping in the future!
I was wondering if you could add the dimensions of the bowl, please TINHOUSE ?
I do see what you mean. The effect is much the same but there really are subtle differences.
