This is a big cruciform necklace from 19th century Austro-Hungary. Set with red carnelian and green malachite cabochons, and a tiny purple amethyst on the top. The silver is worked in a floral motif and even the back is decorated. It hangs from its original long and heavy silver chain. It is unmarked.
How beautiful!
I love it, so colorful and what I admire on this kind of jewelry is the very beautiful detailed back.
Thanks, all. Agram.m, I know what you mean. The fact that the back is also beautiful is a definite sign of quality. I love Austro-Hungarian jewellery for that!
Beautiful!
