I have a doll like this she was made in the 1960s I believe more like 65 but not positive at the moment. But she doesnt cry anymore. My mom swears she said MOMMY but I was told she didnt she said Momma. Can anybody out there help me get a new Crier for her. I have everything down to her socks and shoes, I've had somebody try to fix the crier but that didnt work. I bought 2 more little versions of the doll but she couldnt fix them neither. This is my Black Eye Susie doll ( thats just what I called her when I was little). and I have an original Chrissy doll, thats really my collection. I am DESPERATE. The madame alexander people cant help me. Please help me solve this mystery,,,PLEASE Thanks Donna
It never really said mama it was a sound that it made that sounded a bit by the pitch to say mama . You can buy new criers on ebay or a doll parts store .

Thanks so much, I had seen that site before the only prob is I just need the crier really and its a $25.00 minumum to buy anything. Is it just me or is it weird there is only one site to buy crier's?....my friend had tried to repair mine but its different then that video you shared and everything she tried didnt work. Thanks so much for answering me too.
Chances are to buy a old doll for crier it won't work as they dried out and few still work . Look under doll parts on ebay also . I will keep my eyes open for you . I worked for a doll hospital that is closed now or I could have referred you . Have you tried looking in phone book for a doll hospital ? They may sell a crier .
I see a few old ones on ebay under parts
Here is one that sold

Hello, I was born in June of 1969. My grandmother used to purchase a Madame Alexandra doll for me and my sister every birthday. I had this one and my sister had the blonde one. It did say mama but it was more like a maaaama. There is a lady in Nashville TN that specializes in MA doll preservation. I do not recall her contact info, but bet you could google it and figure it out. Oh and my doll was purchased when I was about 8 or 9,
Wow never seen one on ebay before without the doll and that woman is actually close to me by about 2 hours,,lol. I didnt know they had doll hospitals? Think i'm gonna try to order one from that company I guess, the minimum is $25.00 but I actually found 2 smaller pussy cat dolls at a flea market and got them for 14.00 both and they need crier's too so lol guess ill have my minimum order,,lol Thanks for all the help i Thank you very MUCH!!!!
In Google, search for antique doll crier. The first video presented will show you how rot repair your antique doll crier. Hope this helps. Apparently takes 6 minutes!
