Platform Recliner 1940s?

This platform recliner and matching ottoman (matching turned foot) was in my grandmother's house, built in the 1940's-50's. It has unusual bent-wood arms, very hefty solid maple. I have not been able to find much information about platform recliners and am wondering if anyone can direct me. It has sinuous/zig-zag springs. Thanks.
