Here’s something completely different from my usual posts. My mother was going through some things that her mother owned and showed me these earrings. I know we have some folks here interested in vintage jewelry and I thought I’d share. Mom thinks they date to the 1930s. She’s the one modeling them in my photos.
The first pair of earrings has a wire that goes behind the ear like eyeglasses. I have no idea if this type of attachment was common. While I was taking out the earrings to take the photos, I felt something else in the box. Beneath the padding in the box was a necklace my mother hadn’t seen!
The last two pictures show another earring. The arrow that seems to pierce the ear has a hidden screw post behind it. Unfortunately this earring has lost its mate.

I have NEVER come across this type of earring before!! LOve It!! Cannot wait to fins a pair for myself.... I will be looking feverishly now : ) Thank you for posting!
Thanks so much for the comment and the "love" mackay1st! I plan on re-photographing picture 2 and 4. I finally figured out the fluorescent lights were why things were such a weird yellow. Photos 1 and 3 were taken in natural light and are more true to the color.
Thanks for the love loves bratjdd and Manikin.

An adorable post, really I love it!!
Many thanks for share!
Wow, I never knew they had earring like tha back then. So neat!! They did not have dual ear piercing (in lobes) like they do now -- yet those make it look like. So were they ahead of their time -- or are we just re-visiting piecing styles from back then, but making them real in todays market!!
Tell your Mom it was Great to have her as the model......she was workin it!!!
Super NEAT post!! Thanks for sharing !!!
