    bought this on ebay n cant find no information on it anywere the listing it was on ebay as antique 1800s washington st waltham type kwks he said it was a nice antique swiss made movement modeled after the 18s american waltham 1857 model dont have any other info on it except this the thing im not geting is that i dont see how this can be a swiss made movement if the movement says washington street watch co chicago illinois help help help i have searched all over the net n not coming up with anything

      It may be a Swiss Fake. American watches were the cream of the crop, so some Swiss firms made watches that looked American in order to sell in the U.S.

      thanks for help it does make sense to me because all american watch companys did put serial numbers on the movements n this one doesnt have that i know the swiss fakes are highly collectable to n hard to find hopefully i can get some more info on this watch i went to the pocket watch history site n there is a section on the washington street watch co but i cant figure out how to get the info on it its in the history section of the pocketwatchdatabase.com history but i cant get the info thank you TUBEAMP for the help well appreaciated

      actually the site i see that has some info on it that i cant seem to get access to is pocketwatchrepair.com in their history section it does list washington street watch co but thats all i cant seem to get the rest of the history can anyone else help me with this thank you ivan

      They list it, but I don't think it belongs there, that's why they don't have any info about it because it's not an American Company.

      it does look like it i guess their saying its a fake swiss n they mention something about after 1870 the swiss had to mark the movement with country of origin because of the fakes entering the country im keep looking no luck so far thank you TUBEAMP for taking the time to help me on this

      OK THANKS KERRY10456 IM SEE WHAT I CAN FIND OUT IT WOULD JUST BE GOOD TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE SO I CAN START DOCUMENTING EVERY WATCH IN MY COLLECTION SO WHEN MY KIDS GET OLDER THEY CAN KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY HAVE THANK YOU
