THIS ISNT STRICTLY AN ITEM BUT HAVING BEEN BROUGHT UP BY A VINTAGE AND VETERAN MOTORCYCLE BUFF I LOVE THEM AS WELL!
THIS WAS TAKEN AT SELLINGE STEAM FAIR , KENT, ENGLAND ABOUT 20+ YEARS AGO.. I'M SURE IT WAS DANGEROUS BUT I LOVED EVERY SECOND! EVERYONE THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY AS I JUST VOLUNTEERED FROM THE CROWD TO DO IT.. IT WAS AMAZING!!
I'm impressed! I have ridden bikes, off & on, since 14 yrs old(67 now) & wouldn't even consider that at any age. The physics are good, but think I would get dizzy. I took up cliff diving & flying instead.
Haha blunderbuss2 You don't get dizzy it's like a never ending road going over your head! But cliff diving etc instead?! You are crazy! My husband would like to fly helicopters :)
Incidentally my dad does the London to Brighton classic motorcycle run on a wall auto wheel.. He is 67 too.. I don't know how he does it as he has to pedal most of the way!
Yo dad has me impressed! Do they have a centre stripe on the wall & maybe passing strips? Pedal?? Choppers? Been there, done that but didn't really care for them. Cliff diving sounds safer! Heart surgery may be safer! Lived to my age being foolish, but not stupid or crasy. I just lied.
Centre stripe and white rim at the top and bottom ..
http://www.realclassic.co.uk/wallautowheel.html this is the wall auto wheel, you can see why he has to pedal!
A school friend in the 50's who loved mechanics, picked up an old Whizzer & got it running. Lot of laughs , until you got a 1-2 degree incline & had to start peddling. We bored of it real fast but wish I had it today as a novelty.
