Another find from GW along with the little scent bottle I posted earlier. This is a small pottery mug designed and produced by the Benedictine Monks of Prinknash Abbey in Gloucester, England. It's 3 3/8" H x 3 3/4" diameter. The luster style and burnished gray glaze give it the appearance of hammered pewter. -Mike-
Prinknash Abbey
www.prinknashabbey.org.
Prinknash Abbey, a monastic community of men, who live in the spirit of the Rule of Saint Benedict, written about the year 500 AD. The community began in the Anglican Church, but converted to the Catholic Church, while living on Caldey Island, near Tenby, Wales, on 5th March 1913—one hundred years ago. We belong to the English Province of the Subiaco Cassinese Benedictine Congregation, which is itself part of the worldwide Benedictine Confederation.
