This is a 50's era Schwinn, if you look insde the tank you will find abattery operated horn........just hope that the battery was removed. The Light on the front fender also worked on Batteries, You are missing the chain Guard and I suspect that it said "Phantom" as that was the most popular model. Other than that this is a 'top of the line' bike.

Your bike is what's know as a Schwinn B-6 I suspect that if you'll take another look at that serial number you'll find you're missing a number on the one posted here. It should be H then a six digit number. If that's the case and the number you're missing falls at the end of your serial number your bike was born 6/28/1951 The paint scheme would suggest that's the right year as well. Your rear fender has been replaced. It shouldn't have those holes along the edge. That one came from an earlier girls bike that would have had string laced through the holes to keep the ladies skirts out of the spokes... Both fenders would have been painted with a color keyed paint scheme. It's not a Phantom. The phantom had chrome fenders and a chrome tank. Your's is really decked out though. You have what Schwinn called their "fore-wheel brake" and their "cycle-lock" locking front springer. Your front hub contains a drum brake system complete with "Rayspestos" brake shoes... Yeah, asbestos... Your missing the cable to operate it however.
