Meet Greta. When we first met she was holding that pose with nothing in her right hand. I found her on one of my jaunts to Atlanta several years ago. It was a dime a dance, but I enjoyed her company so much she agreed to come home with me and has stayed ever since.
She was shadeless when I bought her. I searched for a usable shade for a long time. Unfortunately, it requires a specially sized/shaped shade. So, I phoned up Carl Radke at Phoenix studios and asked if he'd make me a custom shade. We agreed on decor, and I ordered two shades. "Why?" you ask. Because, if she lost a shade once, she might lose another, and it's always safe to have a backup.
The camera didn't like the lit version of her. She's not so very "light hot" in real life.
There's a lot I love about this piece. The pose, the classy feel, and the joy it brings me being greeted by her each day. Plus, she's a great dancer.
Beautiful...
She is beautiful and very graceful.
The lamp and shade are absolutely beautiful. I think that if you were to use a smaller wattage bulb, or were to utillize a rheostat, the shade would look better with the light turned on.
She's gorgeous Meltingsand, I'm not fortunate enough to own such a lovely lamp, but often seen them for sale without shades and think it must take ages to find the 'right' shade for such a thing. Well done this one looks superb. I' try out a glass beaded one too:)
