I bought this from a thirft store, the quality and craftmanship caught my attention. I need help identifying what it is and if it is Native American. And if so possibly what tribe. I dont know what the material is outside of the woven material is but It doesn't seem to be some sort of hide, but it is strong like it.
And information on this will be Greatly Appreciated.

Polynesian. It is woven lauhala and Tapa, possibly from Fiji.

Sorry I don't. These crafts are sill being made, however this would be for tourists so it's not going to be that terribly old.
