Beautiful bird, but I don't think it is Vannes, the base is different to any Vannes pieces I own or have seen. I will do a bit of research to see if I am right or just talking out my backside. Regards William.

Eve antiquerose, take a look at this i picked up today, the bases are different but the style looks a bit similar.

      Hello again, antiquerose,
I have looked at what feels like thousands of glass/crystal birds and haven't come up with a match. I agree it does look very 1950's french in style but I can't find another piece by any of the better known french glassmakers with a bevelled base like the one on your bird. Perhaps this is an american or canadian piece in a french style? I don't know enough about glass on the other side of the pond to venture an opinion. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. William.

@Gracay2004 - Thanks for your time, and input. You know Murphy's law -- when we're not looking....we will stumble on the answer.

My brain is Froze here today anyways.....it is almost -40 Celsius with the windchill here today....LOL

Wow, never experienced -40, I was complaining yesterday because it was only 8°C. Keep well wrapped up! Regards William.
