First...thanks to czechman, Jericho and anyone else who's photo appears here.

ShapeCompare2(picture 1): Shows two of the spatters that are the same shape, and two of the Kralik Millifiori pieces that are the same shape. The spatter pieces may even possibly be Ruckl. too early to say for sure, but I would lean that way for now.

ShapeCompare3(picture 2): Shows a spatter and a millifiori example, and although the pieces are not at the same angles exactly, the same differences are seen in that pair as the other pairs. The foot is quite different, the thickness of the lid rim is also different. There are other differences, like the finial, but the lid and foot are ones that are consistent between the two shapes.

Shape1(picture 3)" pretty clearly establishes that the Millifiori was at least done by Kralik.

MillifioriGroup(picture 4): This is a variety of Millifiori decors on well recognized Kralik shapes. It is also worth mentioning that the green knuckle bowl at the top also has an "Iris" decor label on it from Kralik.

"There are lots of things we can, and many have, figured out about this glass without documentation." That doesn't make it correct.

Tom, In consideration of the above quote, how do pics 3 and 4 help in a shape study of the covered jar shape if their Kralik attribution is unconfirmed and without documentation. These pieces could be Ruckl too for all anyone knows. In fact, my best guess would not be Kralik on a couple of them. Although they may currently be "know" as Kralik shapes it's not based upon documentation, just guesswork.

It is not documented that Kralik applied or owned the rights to the Iris label. In addition, it has not been proven that Kralik applied or owned the rights to the arched mark. Pretending these are manufacturer labels and markings is inaccurate, therefore attributions based upon these things are also inaccurate.

Everyone has made a good attempt and no disrespect is intended. We have barely scraped the ice on manufactures like Franz Tomschick, Ruckl, and numerous virtually or totally unknown companies. There was a time when "everything" was Kralik or Loetz but we now know that to be untrue. As GSO once said "Know what you know, but know what you don't know too."

True, but since eBay photo crop has no concern for aspect ration it is irrelevant. With eBay photo crop a round item can appear oval and an oval item can appear round if care isn't given. Cropping pictures can and often does change the shape.

Nice pictures - especially the millefiore ones. I am happy knowing that I am moving from buying "likely European Art Deco" to getting it mostly right with Czech!
