Little Round Chinese Celadon Wine Vessel /Nu Er Hong "Red Daughter" Rice Wine /Modern Giftware

I always love to find these odd little pieces to research. It's 6"H x 5 " in diameter. Lots of marks on the bottom and characters on the body but not a clue as to what they say. I love the Celadon green pieces and have several but I'm pretty sure they are all mid-century to modern. I'll let the Asian art forum people take a look and see what they think too. -Mike-

Note: Thanks to geo26e from IDing this for me. It's a Chinese wine container for a wine called 'Red Daughter'. Usually served to guests at a daughter's wedding. Not sure of it's age or if it has any value but it is still a nice decorative piece. -Mike-

Pagoda Nu Er Hong is a popular rice wine served at weddings and given as gifts due to its delightful spherical bottle shape. Its name "Nu Er" means "little lady". Since traditional times, every wedding guest receives a bottle of Nu Er Hong compliments of the Bride & Groom.

Nu Er Hong (Chinese Rice Wine)

Nu Er Hong is a type of rice wine, Chinese Rice Wine that is. It is a popular rice wine served at weddings for the Chinese and contains 17% alcohol. However, I doubt that nowadays Chinese drink this at weddings. With the abundant choices of western alcohol such as beer, whiskey, spirits etc. So more choices would incline them to favor western alcohol.
Nu Er Hong if translated directly would be Red Daughter. So, it happens that traditionally Nu Er Hong bottles of rice wine would be buried upon the birth of a daughter and would be kept buried until the daughter marries. Then the Nu Er Hong would be unearthed at the wedding and the drinking begins. This is the practice since traditional times in ancient China.
