I’ve the oldtimer for only a few months now and am very proud on it and hope you’ll like it aswell.
The first and only Volvo Duett London cab. Year built 1966. The restoration, and construction has taken over 5 months. The Duett was very bad. Of origin he was cream/white. The restoration has cost 5 times as much as the purchase price.
The Volvo Duett is treated twice with schoolbord chalk. The idea behind it, as ' Classic car ' Charity Cab Company ' theme ', is that he is going to be used for charities and amongs others '' Help Cancer out. The main cancer funds, – departments, hospitals have been contacted and support our action, as Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, Daniel den Hoed in Amsterdam to Rotterdam, to The VUmc Amsterdam, Kika (children cancer free) in Amstelveen, the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, Radboud UMC Nijmegen and the Dutch in Amsterdam. The Commission of the jfv rally tour, a faciliteitsvereniging attached to St. Radboud University Nijmegen approached ourselves to get involved with her vintage car tour rally for sick patients.
Such as car manufacturer Ford at the beginning of the last century said '' anyone can buy a car with me, in any colour as long as it's black, we say by Gold timer cars, at the beginning of the 21st century '' everyone is allowed for a good cause one of my Volvo Duetts hire, in any colour, as long as it is '' a black. And this is, of course, black London cab, so..!
The collection happened in a way which, although not new, but rather particular. Passers-by, tourists, interested parties can Blackboard with chalks (colored and white) their story, texts, names, drawings on the vintage car writing/drawing against a voluntary contribution on the spot.
It is an outdoor event, the locations are known and streetartists permits are issued. Participating funds are currently already (anno February 2014) Stichting kika, kwf, the VUmc, Anthoni van Leeuwenhoek, Erasmus mc, Radboudumc, Daniel den Hoed. The collection will take place in the period March-December. The result is distributed among the participating organisations. See more at www.goldtimer-cars.nl
