Loetz Blue Melusin vase. Prod. Nr. II-4775, ca. 1907

Wow. There, I said it. :)

I never thought I would get a chance to own one of these, but when a dealer and fellow collector who lives in my local area contacted me about buying some pieces from his own collection, I jumped at the opportunity. It took me three weeks to take delivery of this beauty, but was it ever worth it! This paperweight style vase has dense trailings of deep blue and silver/grey sandwiched between two layers of clear glass, in a manner similar to the Titania and Carrageen lines. At 5" tall, it doesn't take up a lot of space in the cabinet, but its presence is huge.
