This censer measures 4.5" in height and 5" in width without the stand.
I have a question that I was hoping someone may be able to help me with. I noticed today, that someone wrote on the bottom of the stand, "St Louis World's Fair 1904". This made me wonder if this Jade censer is actually a souvenir from the 1904 World's Fair Chinese pavilion in St Louis. I have one of the cranberry shot glasses from that fair, but I have never come across memorabilia of foreign content though it would make sense! :)
Do you know if such objects were sold at the fair or do could you direct me to a resource?
i don't know anything about your piece but about a month ago on antique roadshow some woman had a piece that looked like yours in that color jade and it was worth a bundle, maybe you can find out on there site and research past shows and find that one i am talking about and the one who valued hers and contact them , just a idea hope this helps great piece if infact is from the 1904 worlds fair, last piece on here from that 1904 world fair was a toy and it turned out to be vary rare and was worth about 50k ,so good luck lawat56
Seen that on Antique Roadshow also, certainly worth checking out.It seems to me the lady got it as a birthday gift about 20 years ago.She seen it at a antique dealer for $300 and talked her Mother into buying it for her birthday.
You should be able to pick up the show on the net and maybe FB,am sure they would be interested in your item.
*~*Wow and thank you so much!*~*
I live near St. Louis, so I stopped by the1904 World's Fair Exhibition room at Missouri History Museum today. A volunteer gave me some information about the World's Fair Society's monthly meetings, and recommended I come to the next one, which I will likely do. I also wrote to Museum's librarian.
I'll update as soon as I get some more information~ :D

I received some information from today~ The censer may very well have been purchased at the St Louis World's Fair, but not as I put it, "a souvenir of the 1904 World Fair itself" Rather, there were works of cultural art available for purchase that represented the country itself. I did not understand the distinction at first, but I do now.
It is a Qing Dynasty white jade censer. The lion on top is auspicious and powerful. The elephants (seen on the handles) represent peace.
I have received the appraisal as well... ... and I am happy. :D
WHAT YEAR WHAT ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT IT WAS MADE IN, SO IS IT GOING TO CHRISTIES AUCTION BLOCK. GLAD THINGS WORK OUT FOR YOU LAWAT56
Congrats to you! When I first saw the picture, I thought about the Antiques Roadshow and the lady who had one very similar to yours. Hope the news you got was very similar to the lady on the Antiques Roadshow.
*~*Thank You So Much lawat56 and Woman34!*~*
I am forwarding the information to an auction close by, which happens to be in St Louis. So I think it will appeal to collectors in that area as well. Funny thing is, I didn't get this censer in St Louis. I'm originally from Chicago and that is where we got it.
Angels I tell ya....they seem to be everywhere these days....... :D

It is Qing Dynasty....likely late Qing, so late 1800s-early 1900s. My guess is made within a few years of the World's Fair~ :D
YEA BABY THAT'S WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT SEND THEM ANGELS MY IF YOU DON'T MIND I NEED TO HAVE A VISION ,ALL KIDDING ASIDE I KNOW THEY ARE THERE ANGELS OUT THERE ,BECAUSE I COULD TELL YOU A STORY THAT WOULD BE HARD TO BELIEVE BUT ONE SAVED MY SON WHEN HE WAS 18 MONTHS OLD ,I WAS CHANGING OIL IN MY CAR ,HAD UP ON A PAIR OF THEM RAMPS THAT YOU DRIVE UP ON TO WORK ON YOUR CAR AND ME AND MY WIFE WHERE OUT THERE WITH OUR SON AND WHEN I GOT THE OIL ALL CHANGE AND TOLD HER TO MOVE THE CAR BACK SHE SAID IT WANT MOVE AND OF COURSE I SAID TAKE THE BRAKE OFF AND SHE SAID IT IS OFF AND SO WENT AND WAS GOING AROUND TO GET IN THE CAR BEHOLD HERE WAS MY SON SITTING ON THE GROUND RIGHT BEHIND THE CAR AND A ANGEL HAD THERE ON IT AND WOULD NOT LET IT MOVE TILL WE MOVED OUR SON , THAT'S WHY I BELIEVE IN ANGELS .
