    I have searched for years and years to find out more about this chair. I usually get the same answer "Wow, never seen one like that before". Anyone have any hints, tip, or clues? There are no markings on the chair. The last antique shop I showed this too said it was Colonial Revival derived from Windsor, Narrow Back with Oriental Influence. How's that for an identity crisis!

      I would suggest, you were in the wrong antique shop. this chair design is typical of the 1890's. veneer Backing Applied decoration.
