Purchased today to add to my daughters growing collection of music boxes. I do not believe however this is a true music box but rather a toy of some sort as it plays tiny cassette tapes and is battery operated. It will not work unless the cassette tape is inserted. It has no marking or stickers anywhere and the instructions printed inside the battery cover are in Chinese. Measures 12" tall by 9" wide ( not including the flag atop). The top and base are made of tin and the rest including the horses are plastic.
The cassette tape is clear in color with the name of the tune tapped on with a white sticker and black writing. The tapes says Bandai 1998 and is aprox. 1 1/2 x 1 inch .
My hope is that Bandai is a clue as to where this came from. However if we aren't able to locate the maker, we will still be very happy.
