I can't really think of a purpose for this thing... Some kind of ikebana maybe? Its definitely Satsuma, its got the beige-crackle on the inside. Anyone have any guesses at what the purpose of this was?

Probably, I was wondering if it had some kind of special purpose, but I guess Satsuma was mainly made asa decorative ware

Yeah it was probably just made to be "different." Since Satsuma wasn't mainly a decorative ware
