Here I have a very pretty but very, very little Nippon piece that I'm having mixed feelings about. It was advertised as a pin dish but it's size and shape is that of a coaster. Can anyone tell me what this is?
I took photos with a water bottle on it to show the true size of this piece.

Thank you AR. I was leaning towards coaster because I thought hair pin dishes were larger than this dish.

Thank you for all the loves...

Hi Phil, I really don't know, that would make sense considering its size.

I like it either way. Was just curious what it is, and if I received a good deal on it. I just wasn't expecting something so small for the price. I need to get a Nippon book.

I recently saw a set of six similar to these at the antique mall. They were Japan and in the original box that looked like 30's?? The box was marked "Fine Chine" "Coaster Ash Tray". I thought it was interesting as an ash tray because they did not have any rests for a cigarette.
