The first photo shows the item with the lid on, right side up. The second photo shows it upside down. The third shows the inside and the fourth shows the top and bottom pieces. It appears to be made out of tin. The top twists about an inch to the left in order to separate it from the bottom. It measures about 6 " across and is about 3 1/2 " tall. To me, it seems to be something used for cooking and maybe another component to it fits in the hole on the underside. I thought it might be some kind of military mess kit but have seen nothing like it. Does anyone have any ideas?
My guess is a mold for making à la daube. I think I've seen fish à la daube shaped like that and with the hole in the middle filled with shrimps etc. I does take a day or so for the a la daube to set in a fridge, so you'd probably want to cover it during that time. A guess anyway.
Funny how my post is gone. Obviously you don't think it is a stack pot.
It looks like it might make a nice campfire cake ;)
Good luck I hope you find out what this neat lil treasure is, I would really like to know as well.
I'm going with bunt cake / jello mold. 6" across would be a single serving, lol
I thought cake pan and/or mold as well AzTom :)
I didn't delete any posts. I appreciate your input! What is a stack pot? It does appear as though something could attach to what I have pictured.
