The design and colors on this tin captured my attention, then when I saw that it was a perfume tin I just HAD to get it! (Plus it was only $2 which seemed like a decent deal)
This tin is Avon's 91st Anniversary Keepsake perfume. The front says
"California Perfume Co. 1977 Anniversary Keepsake
Trailing Arbutus Perfumed Talc"
Its net weight is 3.75 ounces. The back tells a brief history of how Avon started... "In 1886 David H. McConnell started the California Perfume Co. in a tiny Manhattan Loft. Helped only by his wife, he manufactured a line of 5 floral fragrances. Soon he increased the number of fragrances and added toiletry items. The small company grew quickly and by 1895 manufacturing moved to Suffern, N.Y. where the first laboratory was built. Today, known as Avon Products, Inc., it has facilities on 5 continents and headquarters in a modern 50 story building on West 57th Street off Fifth Avenue."
I just really thought this was unique (to me, an 18 year old college student, anyway...) and love the floral design on it!
