I have 4 of these chairs that my Father bought, about 30 years ago. They are oak, and have reinforcement metal rods on the bottom 4 spreaders/stretchers, running on the bottom. they also have 2 metal rods attached to the bottom of the seat down to the first set of spreaders/stretchers. on the bottom of the seat there is US VA stamped in the chair then stenciled with paint with the word ohio, and another word but I can not make out what the word is. These chairs were bought at Willard Asylum for the Insane, in Willard NY for $1.00 each. My dad said there were 100's of them. I hope to someday find 8-12 more of these chairs.

I am wondering what style these chairs are, who were they made by, what year they were made, and also trying to find 8-12 of these chairs.

I have only seen one chair. A rocker with metal supports. I was advised it was the work of Stomps Burkhart co Dayton Ohio. & I do not know this for a fact.
